Job Description

We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Senior Mobile Apps developer with experience creating iOS apps at scale. You’ll be joining the business at an exciting time of rejuvenation and reinvention and help redefine and refresh our mobile app portfolio in line with the replatforming project currently being deployed across our web portfolios.

You’ll be part of the team responsible for developing native mobile applications within the Australian Metro Publishing (AMP) group, joining the internal team responsible for delivering apps across iOS, Android, phones & tablets for titles such as Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and Australian Financial Review.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 3+ years iOS application development experience in Swift, with at least 5 years of an overall software development experience

  • Strong user interface design skills across iPhone and iPad interfaces keeping the performance optimal

  • Good understanding of Object oriented design, SOLID principles and patterns (MVVM, Router, Clean Architecture, MVP, GoF)

  • Solid Unit and UI Test Automation experience with XCTest along Mocking

  • A commitment to quality in your work and that of your team. You’ve help create high quality software through implementation of automated and manual QA processes

  • Experience with Git, Continuous Integration/Development, Agile Software Development, especially using Atlassian tools like JIRA

  • A strong understanding of agile development best practices including Scrum and Lean methodologies.

  • A strong interest in all things Apple and iOS with a laser focus on the latest capabilities, devices and methodologies

  • Ability to execute high level application architecture designs to meet business requirements, finding simple solutions to complex problems

  • Be a team player and effective communicator who’s able to discuss and explain complex technical issues with others outside your specialty

  • Degree in Computer Science/IT, or equivalent practical experience.
