HOUSING ASSISTANT
Part-Time/ Hourly/ Non-Exempt
The Faculty Student Association of Jefferson Community College, Inc. has a 10 month Housing Assistant position for the 2018-2019 academic year. The Housing Assistant position is responsible for assisting the Resident Director in the administration and management of the assigned area of a coeducational residence hall community of approximately 300 students. The Housing Assistant plays an integral role in helping to implement the mission of the Housing & Residence Life program which includes helping students to thrive academically, personally, socially, and to find a connection to the college. The Housing Assistants duties include assisting with the opening and closing of the residence hall at the beginning and end of each semester and other officially scheduled breaks. The Housing Assistant provides leadership for creating bulletin boards, newsletters, and fliers as directed; works with staff team to facilitate opportunities for residents to interact. The Housing Assistant performs building/safety inspections, serves as a liaison to student residents to address needs and concerns, and to provide assistance during crises and emergencies as long as the college and/or residence halls remain open and occupied.
This is a live-on position with evening and weekend on-call duty every other week employment responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
An earned Associates degree in Human Services, administration or other related field. Ability to accommodate work hours, including evening and weekend work hours.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Competitive $15.38 hourly wage plus a shared furnished two bedroom apartment and utilities.
