The RBA Director oversees the region team to ensure appropriate leverage of programs, tools and resources to help customers understand and overcome barriers that may impede or delay access to treatment with AbbVie’s product’s and/or prevent appropriate patient compliance to recommended treatment protocols. Customer support includes provision of guidance on appropriate billing and coding to the highest level of specificity. The RBA Director collaborates with other RBA Directors, District Sales Managers, and Director of National Accounts on appropriate account prioritization and encourages inter-team communication at every level.The RBA Director also works with the marketing teams to contribute to development of provider and patient reimbursement strategies and resources and with Managed Markets and Government Affairs on relevant payer updates and trends. Other activities include managing all personnel related issues such as hiring, training, development, and coaching, while maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance.Leadership / Team ManagementEffectively leads the team and has the vision and passion to inspire to meet / exceed all objectives (productivity and account metrics and all other agreed objectives)

Responsible for the hiring, training and coaching and all aspects of performance management including timely completion of performance appraisals, mid-year reviews, and compensation plans, working closely with HR and supervisor as required

Ensures the effective and timely execution of approved provider support to appropriate patient access to treatment with Abbvie’s products, balancing identified customer needs with AbbVie’s business objectives

Works with all team members to develop / progress Individual Developmental Plan (IDP) to ensure ongoing growth and contribution to the Medical Therapeutics business and appropriate succession planning

Consistently delivers positive leadership to the team, peers, senior management and the various business units through a proactive approach to best practice sharing, anticipation of issues and effective problem-solving with a keen sense of when/what to escalate

Contributes to continued strategic and compliant development of initiatives and plays and active role in the ongoing development / refinement of supporting programs and tools.

Communication and ReportingBuild excellent internal cross-functional relationships with a broad base of groups and individuals (i.e., sales management, marketing, training, managed markets, legal, regulatory, compliance, customers and third-party vendors etc.)

Manages all forms of communication in a proactive and timely fashion to meet or exceed expectations

Provides comprehensive progress reports on all aspects of team objectives as requiredManages team budget effectively to meet all agreed objectives and demonstrating ability to proactively identify efficiencies

QualificationsEducation and ExperienceEducation:Grade /Level 15: Bachelors’ degree, MBA preferred

Experience:An in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the health care environment, reimbursement, payor policy, management of hospital and private practices management and marketing.

Demonstrated success in a management role.

At least 5 years with two of the following areas:

Business consulting (or equivalent) in a health-related field

Experience with physician-administered injectables, Buy & Bill, and/or Specialty Pharmacy

Strong working knowledge of office reimbursement processes

Broad business perspective, including a solid working knowledge of office operations and systems

Ability to travel with approximately 60%-70% overnight travel including some weekend work
