We're looking for another person to join our staff at Asheville Chocolate.
The job includes about half customer service (serving chocolates and gelato, making beverages) and half chocolate production (making truffles, quality control, making and packaging chocolates.)
You must be able to interact with customers in a friendly, engaging, and informative manner, and be able to work safely and efficiently in a kitchen environment.
Chocolate experience is not required or expected. Barista experience is a plus, as is kitchen experience and customer service.
We currently need staff to cover nights and weekends, roughly 30 hours per week although that can be flexible in either direction. Pay is $11/hr during the training period (usually 20-60 hours depending on experience) and then $12/hr and up depending on experience. Tips add $3-$6 per hour on average.
We are currently counter service only and mostly carry-out, with three inside seating areas distanced from employees and other customers. We are enforcing mask usage inside the store when interacting with employees, so please be comfortable with politely but firmly asking customers to wear a mask or leave.
