Billy Sunday, an award-winning Chicago cocktail bar rooted in history and the American spirit is coming to Charlotte! We are known for our classic drinks, adventurous new creations, a deep library of vintage spirits and an elevated bar menu. Our cocktail menu takes a culinary approach to flavor, balance and discipline with a welcome dose of whimsy. We are excited to share our enthusiasm for great beverages with everyone there.

We will have 2 cocktail bars in Optimist Hall. Billy Sunday, a high-end cocktail bar, will be located as a stand-alone in the courtyard of Optimist Hall, and Spindel, the halls fast casual cocktail bar, will be located inside Optimist Hall.

We are seeking a General Manager who has a proven track record as a successful operational leader and bar professional to manage (be the driving force behind) this multi-unit bar project. Â

You will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of both bars, ensuring a positive guest experience, and demonstrating strong leadership skills to ensure policies and procedures are properly implemented.

You will work closely with the owners to ensure front of house standards, and with our Beverage Manager to ensure guidelines are met.

Here are some of the thingsÂyou will do as a General Manager for this multi-unit project:Â

Develop a success-oriented team: interview, hire, train, coach, mentor, develop leaders, and maintain a positive, energetic culture

Create specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely action plans to drive culture of guest service and remedy guest service deficiencies.

Handle staff issues appropriately, coach and counsel to improve performance, and partner with human resources on employee relations issues and or concerns.

Monitor guest feedback and communicate findings to staff and train on best practices accordingly.

Critically review revenue reports, partner with finance to analyze trends and implement changes to maximize revenue.

Monitor all assets to ensure cleanliness and maintenance

Book and run events to ensure all onsite functions are executed successfully.

Maintain elevated cocktail program and back bar expectations.

Here is the background we think the optimal person will have:

3-5 years restaurant management experience, with at least 3 years as a bar manager

Experience in a high-volume setting

Knowledge about driving sales and meeting financial goals

Craft cocktail experience

Good tenure at prior jobs and consistent career progression

Results driven individual with demonstrated record of prior success
