JOB DESCRIPTION: OFFICE MANAGER
The OFFICE MANAGER is employed by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Hendersonville (UUFH) and works under the supervision of the Minister. The OFFICE MANAGER follows standard practices and procedures in the execution of the position and is responsible for the organization and coordination of office operations, procedures and resources to facilitate the effectiveness and efficiency of UUFH.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manages UUFH office communications/correspondence through postal mail, electronic mail, phones, and in person
Oversees the functioning of the office, including keeping church files and records, maintaining office equipment, purchasing supplies, and keeping calendars of events and building usage
Manages church publications and communications such as Orders of Service, weekly eBlasts, monthly newsletters, website updates, social media accounts and virtual programs
Prepares materials for Board and Executive Committee meetings and other meetings as well as attending meetings as requested
Attends scheduled staff meetings as well as communicates regularly with other staff members (Bookkeeper, Coordinator of Family Ministry, Music Director, and Minister) to coordinate office business
Manages all facilities maintenance activities, including security, repairs, landscaping and cleaning contractors in cooperation with the Buildings and Grounds Committee
Oversees church building rentals.

Ability to maintain confidentiality in general, and specifically in relation to ministry, financial and pastoral concerns in close cooperation with the Minister
Clear understanding and support of UUFH’s vision and mission for building an antiracist, multicultural and multigenerational congregation.
Supports healthy communication and right relationships between the church and its constituencies including: neighbors, vendors, staff, committees, members, etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SCHEDULE
5 years minimum experience in working in office management. Experience in church or not-for-profit organizations an asset
Competency with computers, including Word, database, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, website maintenance, basic graphic design, and social media and networking expertise.
Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
Twenty (24) hours per week
