Established accounting/staffing firm providing professional operational accounting solutions through fractional engagements is seeking part-time consultants to join our vibrant practice in Charlotte. We have successfully created a dynamic service offering for entrepreneurial entities that have the need for a qualified accounting resource, but not necessarily on a full-time basis. Our consultants are committed and experienced accounting professionals that enjoy managing multiple challenging engagements on a flexible-schedule, which enables them to honor both their personal lives and professional careers.
Our ideal Consultants embrace a flexible schedule, but must be able to commit to at least 24-30 hours per week.
Our Consultants will serve in roles that will have them:
Digging in to the details and reconciling client accounting records to current – usually restoring order from chaos
Establishing or enhancing client accounting procedures to insure proper internal controls and timely and accurate financial reporting
Closing the books monthly, reconciling accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies, preparing financial reports
Creating customized financial reports to analyze trends, flash report working capital status and forecast working capital needs
Structuring appropriate financial reporting formats and intervals appropriate for client business
Working with business owners on business plans, financial forecasting, developing accounting function and/or department
This role has many competing demands and priorities. We are looking for a professional individual who has a demonstrated ability to manage a lot of moving parts and priorities; who can be successful working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment; and can appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate that a model where client service can absolutely be achieved without sacrificing personal or professional lives. Work is performed both on client site and remotely, where appropriate.
Requirements:
Four year (or greater) accounting degree. Ideally has public accounting (auditing) experience with a large regional or national firm
10+ years of experience, with a portion of the experience in an entrepreneurial environment
Advanced skills with Excel (financial modeling, formulas, macros, V-look up, etc…)
Enjoys a familiarity with a variety of accounting software packages
Enjoys accounting research and external reporting
Has managed or supervised all aspects of general accounting functions of a business. Has a “roll up the sleeves” work ethic with great attention to detail and willingness to “get into the weeds”. Enjoys bring order to chaos and implementing effective change
Manages effective interaction with outside service providers (CPA, Insurance, Bank, Investors)
Has established or re-engineered the accounting function of a business – specifically the Controller role
Demonstrated experience assisting business owners achieve goals
Demonstrates the ability to step back and evaluate the engagement/assignment as an outside Consultant
