Accessibility Associate
Job Description/Responsibilities
Participate in design reviews and perform accessibility reviews of User Experience team's deliverables.
Identify potential accessibility issues and recommend best practices based on W3C's WCAG 2.0/ WCAG 2.1.
Be an advocate for persons with disabilities in everything you do
Document accessibility specifications for use by User Experience and Development teams.
Identify design direction that requires further accessibility research
Never a bottleneck and always on-time
Contribute guidance to align design solutions with user needs, feasibility, technically possibilities
Test prototypes as well as new patterns in development to ensure usability when considering (but not limited to) various disabilities and combinations of Assistive Technology, browser settings and interface hardware (keyboard, touch, etc.)
Work with design, content, development and QA to ensure that any accessibility defects identified during the test phase are remediated in accordance with documented recommendations
Assist application partners in evaluating and remediating accessibility defects to meet risk and compliance and enterprise accessibility policies
Provide guidance on VPAT requests and 3rd party vendor evaluation

Desired Qualifications
5+ years of web accessibility analysis, design and testing experience with large, highly interactive and dynamic web applications
Understand UCD and UX as well as coding and implementation of standards
Experience with accessible e-document creation, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF
Experience reviewing design output (wireframes, visual design comps, content) and writing accessibility specifications for User Experience and Development teams
strong understanding of accessible user interface design practices and principles a must - better still, if you can demonstrate experience relating to web usability/accessibility research
B.S. or Masters Degree in information technology, human computer interaction, B.A. in Journalism, or related field considered an advantage. Equivalent experience accepted
strong organizational skills and English-language skills (both written and verbal) are central to the position

Knowledge on assistive technology tools to ensure our review covers all aspects of web accessibility
Related assistive technology knowledge and expert experience with JAWS, NVDA and/or VoiceOver screen readers.

This role provides on-site and phone support to the US Field Service Organization to resolve complex technical problems and product issues within a given modality that are beyond the capabilities of the local Field Service Engineer. This position provides support related to new product introduction, first-of-kind installations, transfer of knowledge, and acts as the primary interface to our product manufacturing group, assigned service escalations, business productivity initiatives, and remote support.
