This newly created position will help shape and transform Wells Fargo’s enterprise data landscape. Home Lending Data Technology is looking for an Applications Systems Engineer (ASE) to be responsible for technical advancements for Data Management capabilities and related applications. This position will be heavily engaged with agile and be expected to operate fluently within both agile and waterfall-based teams and processes. This individual must be able to handle multiple ongoing projects/tasks and possess a strong combination of analytical, assessment, organizational and technical skills; he/she must be capable of working successfully with a wide variety of stakeholders such as business product owners, application owners, scrum masters, agile coaches, architects, developers, testers, and others in a highly distributed environment. This position will work closely with both the technology and business groups to coordinate sizing for incoming work, manage small base efforts, groom product backlogs and drive continuous velocity improvement for the team.Acts as a senior development resource in providing application design guidance and consultation, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs. Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications along with other artifacts required by Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) expectations to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications. Provides coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code. Acts as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. Oversees overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production. Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides. Ability to lead projects, including assignment of tasks, and provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan. Ensures the success of the Team by providing any required support.Required Qualifications:

5+ years of application development and implementation experience

5+ years of experience working within an application development environment

5+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL server, or Teradata

2+ years of Ab Initio experience

2+ years of Autosys experience

Desired Qualifications:

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology

5+ years of Teradata experience

Experience leading solution architecture projects

2+ years of Java experience

1+ year of JSP (JavaServer Pages) experience

2 + years of JavaScript Frameworks experience (jQuery, Ext JS, Kendo UI or Angular JS)

1 + years of experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS

ASP.Net experience

Experience with one or more Agile tools used for tracking user stories or backlogs, such as VersionOne and Team Foundation Server (TFS)

1+ year of Agile experience

1+ year of JIRA experience

Experience in Teradata database technology and products such as TASM, Unity, Datamover and Query Grid

Experience developing stored procedures, views, and triggers

2+ years of performance tuning experience

2+ years of offshore application development process experience

Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

Strong collaboration and partnering skills

Strong technical and quantitative skills

Strong root cause analysis skills

Experience leading a fast paced, demanding, and deadline driven production environment

Experience meeting high production and quality standards in a fast paced, development and production support environment

Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled

Ability to work additional hours as needed
