We are an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to hiring a diverse workforce; including individuals with disabilities and United States qualified protected veterans.Job Summary:A skilledmechanic/mechanical assembler to assemble, test, troubleshoot, repair and painta variety of industrial assemblies in support of Trane products in particularand Ingersoll Rand products in general.Amechanical assembler needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail.They must also have knowledge of mechanics, proper use and care of bothprecision measurement tools and precision assembly tools as well as respect forsafety precautions and all safety rules.This rolerequires painting of large assemblies using a pneumatic paint spray system.A qualifiedAssembler II must have some prior experience in mechanical assembly, and shouldhave experience in an industrial production environment performing mechanical assembly,quality checks, testing, and trouble-shooting. Direct experience with refrigerantcompressor assembly, or similar equipment of equivalent complexity is anadvantage in this role.The goal isto ensure effective production operations that are safe, efficient, produceconsistently high quality products and optimize procedures.Responsibilities Include:Knowing andfollowing all applicable environmental, health, and safety (EHS) rules in theperformance of the job.Participatingand fully supporting safety programs (ex. BBS).Beingpunctual and reliable by observing all work rules.Using pneumaticpaint spray system to produce a good quality paint coating on large assemblies.Readingmechanical assembly drawings, production documents (ex.: Operational MethodSheets), work instructions, and quality documentation (ex.: assembly Travelers)to understand specifications and requirements of output.Learningand following the proper sequence of events/actions (SOE’s) for the completionof each assigned job.Takingmeasurements and completing production/quality documentation to record keymeasurements & operations during assembly and testing.Correctlyusing and maintaining tools/equipment necessary for assembly & testoperations.Maintainingclean, safe, and organized work areas.Checkingoutput to ensure consistency with specifications and identifying defects.Keepingrecords of approved and defective units or final products.Performingroutine maintenance to production equipment and making minoradjustments/repairs to equipment as needed.Identifyingand communicating maintenance and repair needs for production equipment to helpprevent down-time.Qualifications:Provenexperience as mechanical assembler or mechanic.Experiencein using manual, semi-automated, or automated tools and machines to assembleand test mechanical components in an industrial production environment.Experience,or ability to learn, to apply a good quality paint coating on large assemblies usinga compressed air paint spray system.Experienceand good working knowledge of mechanics, mechanical components, and mechanicalsystems.Goodunderstanding and ability in the proper use and care of precision assemblytools, (ex.: torque wrenches, quality gages, pneumatic tools, etc.),Goodunderstanding and ability in the proper use and care of precision measurementtools (e.g. micrometers, calipers) to take accurate measurements.Ability toread technical mechanical assembly drawings, schematics, and productiondocumentation (ex.: Operation Method Sheets, work orders, Job Safety HazardAnalysis).Good basicmath with analytical abilities.Physicalstamina and strength to lift heavy items.High schooldiploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeshipwill be an asset.Knowledge,training, or experience in Lean manufacturing concepts & principles will bean asset.Key Competencies:Manualdexterity.Attentionto details.Knowledge ofmathematics.Knowledgeof mechanics.Respect forsafety precautions and all safety rules.Mechanicalassembly & tool knowledge.Paintingusing a compressed air paint spray system.Positiveattitude.Flexibilitytowards work assignments.Strong WorkEthic.Punctualand Reliable.Trustworthy.Courteous.Ethical.Goodpositive values.Company Commitment:We are committed to helping you reach your professional, personal and financial goals.
