Lighthouse Technology Services is seeking a Financial Analyst with STRONG expertise on the AWS Financial Console and AWS package offerings for a contract to hire role. This person will need to be our W2 and can be a remote worker.

Responsibilities:
  • Leverage the AWS console for real time information.
  • Analyze AWS billing and identify cost saving opportunities
  • Pull on demand reporting
  • Understand “package” offerings from AWS to drive cost savings - MUST have prior experience with their package offerings
  • Push back on Technology Management and question requested environments based on current utilization.
  • AWS Billing (due each month)
  • AWS Billing Allocation by Cost Center
  • Internal Cloud Steering Committee Reports
  • Drafting an AWS Tagging Policy
  • EC2 Tagging – name, cost center, application, purpose, schedule
  • Volume Tagging
  • S3 Tagging
  • Unused Resource Clean-up
  • Idle Resource Clean-up
  • RDS Reserved Instances
  • S3 Retention/Clean-up
  • Lead Automation for ongoing Clean-up exercises
  • AWS Standardized Reporting
  • Develop cost allocation and process monthly AWS invoices
  • Reconcile AWS and AMS account balances
  • Provide financial oversight of cloud operating budgets and chargeback
  • Report to business and application owners the monthly cloud consumption costs
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities and partner with cloud architects to resolve or develop a solution
  • Present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) topics
  • Define tagging guidelines to ensure appropriate categorization of costs
  • Work with cloud teams to define guardrails to optimize cost performance
  • Define requirements for alerting when costs are higher than expected within a billing cycle
  • Develop and administer reporting and tracking cloud economic related activities
  • Develop Savings Plans, Reserve Instance, on-demand, and spot instance strategy and guidelines
  • Coordinate and consolidate efforts associated with vendor management
  • Develop Cost Allocation Models for Shared Services
  • Forecast cloud computing costs to support the annual budgeting process
  • Work with cloud teams to optimize cost performance

Requirements:
  • MINIMUM of 2 years’ AWS Cloud Finance experience completing the above responsibilities using the AWS Financial Console and AWS package offerings.
  • MUST Understand and have prior experience / subject matter expertise with AWS “package” offerings and be able to identify cost savings immediately.
  • Must understand the difference between reserved instances.
  • The ability to analyze an AWS bill and know what AWS package offerings will provide the most cost effective savings.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
