Project Description:
As a Data Engineer/Developer will work with multiple teams to deliver solutions on the Azure Cloud using core Azure cloud tools/languages. In addition will participate in building the next generation of application and/or data platforms and/or improving recent implementations. This position is development and the candidate is expected to perform coding.

Broad depth of knowledge of the Azure environment
Azure Data Lake Stores Gen 1 and Gen 2
Azure Data Factory
Azure Data Lake Analytics
Azure Synapse Analytics
Azure Data bricks
Azure HD Insight
Azure Event Hubs
App Service Environments
API Gateways
Azure ML
Hands-on experience in scripting in PySpark, Python
Understanding of DevOps with experience in the following
Git versioning & source control
Understanding of DevOps pipelines
Database maintenance and tuning experience with:
Synapse Analytics SQLDW
Log Analytics
Performance tuning with T-SQL
Well versed in security and access controls mechanisms for Azure
Other desirable skills:
Hadoop, Scala, Kubernetes
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Nine or more years of experience in data engineering and/or ETL
Previously experienced in a mid- to large-size firm
Ability to follow standards
Understands the importance of security
Ability to perform system and/or apps dba duties
Ability to recognize items for continuous improvements such as optimizing queries but not limited too.
Other Qualifications:
Provides work guidance and mentoring to less experienced personnel.
Prepares periodic reports regarding unit activities and goal attainment progress.
Provides input to development of vision, specifies key performance requirements and defines technical critical success factors.
Assumes a lead role in influencing client expectations and ensuring client satisfaction in area of responsibility and related issues.
May participate in proposal efforts and create strategies to win business in new markets or current accounts.
Strong project planning and estimating skills related to area of expertise
Strong communication skills
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems, determine root cause and develop solutions
Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
Ability to be a high-impact player on multiple simultaneous engagements
Ability to think strategically, balancing long and short-term priorities
