To do this, Wells Fargo Technology draws on the talents and motivation of thousands of technology team members across the enterprise.The PositionThe Strategic Services & Advanced Technology (SSAT) CIO will be a critical member of the Commercial Banking & Corporate and Investment Banking technology senior management team and play a central technology leadership role for multiple firm wide strategic services and advanced technology initiatives. This role will work with Wells Fargo Technology leaders to create competitive advantage and positive customer impact for the businesses through effective management of the applications portfolio, simplification & modernization of the technology solutions, enhanced time to market, strong IT governance and effective technology risk management.The SSAT CIO will lead functions including Core Strategic Technology Services (e.g. Enterprise Robotics & Intelligent Automation, Customer Relationship Management, Smart Content Management, e-Signature) and Advanced Technology Initiatives (e.g. Academia & Industry Research Engagements, Distributed Ledger Technology / Digital Cash, Quantum Computing R&D, Advanced AI R&D). This role will also oversee the allocation of people and financial resources to ensure technology commitments are met aligned with strategic objectives and will make critical technology decisions requiring strong operational risk and customer impact management.Responsibilities

Leading with an Engineering Mindset – provide strategic technical direction and interact with the organization at a technical level.

Transformational leadership –lead broad transformation in all aspects of technology delivery as outlined by the Wells Fargo Technology Strategy with a continuous learning approach and skill at workforce transformation.

Recommend and drive innovations, aligned with short term & long term business / customer requirements, strategic priorities and industry trends.

Define and execute a Strategic Services roadmap in partnership with the WF Technology Leadership team for the defined strategic services domains (including CRM, Smart Content Management, Robotics Process Automation, Intelligent Content Capture, E-signature and Document Collaboration) to provide modern, secure, scalable and resilient enterprise ready platforms for CIO teams across WF.

Drive Advanced Technology initiatives including Distributed Ledger Technology, Quantum Computing R&D and Advanced AI R&D in partnership with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Academia & Industry Research partners including IBM Research, MIT & Stanford, Fintechs, WF Innovation & Digital teams).

Build and maintain strong relationships with other functional domains in the CIO enablement areas (e.g. Business Services, Architecture & Technology Transformation & Platform Management & Resiliency) and across Wells Fargo Technology (e.g. Technology Infrastructure, Chief Operating Office, Chief Technology Office, Technology Controls, Information & Cyber Security) as well as critical enterprise partners (e.g. Data Management & Insights, Enterprise Global Services, Corporate Risk, Corporate Finance, HR, Communications).

Be the author for technology solutions that enable efficiently and effectively meeting business needs leveraging enterprise technology services with a bias towards consistency, standards and common solutions.

Manage and/or leverage a set of critical services (e.g. PMO, Application Architects, Platform Management) to continually evolve and improve technology delivery.

Partner closely with WFT CIO leaders to ensure that SSAT services and capabilities are well aligned with WF business and WF Technology strategic priorities.

Demonstrate business partner value by advocating technology solutions to advance business initiatives, incorporating internal / external customer views, and managing key financial indicators to the benefit of Wells Fargo’s shareholders.

Manage a large and complex technology portfolio with diverse underlying technology architectures and platforms including legacy and cutting edge technologies.

Accountable for holistic technology performance including service level agreements, project performance, regulatory compliance, and vendor management.

Provide senior technology perspective on industry trends, competitive landscape and market/regulatory changes leveraging industry contacts, vendors, and strategic technology partner relationships.

Manage and allocate appropriate people and financial resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget and align with strategic objectives.

Be the senior accountable owner for in scope applications portfolio ensuring strong technology operational risk management and compliance while also driving application portfolio rationalization, optimization and modernization.

Assess current staff capabilities, identify talent gaps, and execute talent management actions aligned with human capital strategy.

Required Qualifications:

12+ years of technology development and strategy experience

7+ years of management experience in technology

Desired Qualifications:

Experience managing all technology development efforts for a major line of business

Ability to effectively partner and influence at the senior executive level
