Skills required:
- Metadata analyst mindset- they'll be helping with annual compliance reviews for key applications, data policies, data governance, could be data quality control review/preventative and research work.
- Data governance compliance and metadata work are the most important 2.
- Mentioned some testing in the description below - they don't have to be testing wizards- if they've never touched sql its fine they can teach that. Might do some business testing here and there but have strategies already in place so can train.
- Any BI tool experience using/developing is great- the team is using tableau but as long as they can function with MS Office (templates in excel, lots of Sharepoint site management) suite that's all the mandatory skill needed.
- Soft skills are important. There is a ton of collaboration involved- Key compliance review- working sessions- they're the conductors consolidating what they get, providing input, helping determine what the needs are from data dictionary, layer that into a template etc. so strong facilitation, strong communication - working with application owners but also working with the technology partners for certain data points, could deal with some data quality teams if its needed to build preventative controls.
Must know data compliance, metadata and data controls. Looking for 3-5 years at least.
