Signature Consultants is seeking a Data Modeler for an opportunity with a client in Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation plan for the organization's Enterprise Data Warehousing solution.
Work collaboratively with Solutions Architect to define Data Strategy for the business, including policies, principles, governance etc.
Seek clarifications and understand new product requirements from Product functional team
Translate product requirements to conceptual design from database perspective
Own design and development/enhancement of Data model and database objects
Able to guide on technical solution for product requirements and provide direction to development teams.
Development and maintenance of Conceptual, Logical & Physical Data Models Conceptual/Logical Data Models and related data dictionary documentation
Skills and Experience:
Experience of having led a successful enterprise data warehouse strategy and implementation programme.
Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment.
Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms
Expertise in Data Modelling, including Conceptual, Logical and Physical modelling
Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including MPP and NoSQL databases, Data Warehouse design, BI reporting and Dashboard development
Knowledge of payments industry data standards is highly desirable, including ISO 20022, as well as regulatory experience within Payments
Technical Capabilities:
Data Architecture - Data Warehouse, Data Mart, ODS, ETL, reporting, analytics
Data Modelling - 3NF, Dimensional and Data Vault
Data pipeline integration: supporting high volume of daily transactions
Experience in Big Data, Real-time data streaming and event monitoring, Data ingestion
Understanding of Apache Hadoop and the Hadoop ecosystem. Experience with one or more relevant tools (Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Oozie, Hue, Zookeeper, HCatalog, Solr, Avro). Familiarity with one or more SQL-on-Hadoop technology (Hive, Impala, Spark SQL, Presto)
Significant exposure to relational and NoSQL design methodologies
Understand common integration services: REST API exposure
Strong SQL experience
Structured and unstructured data storage
