The Systems Architect for Common Solutions Architecture is a key position reporting into the Senior Engineering Manager for the Modernization & Optimization Program within the Group.
This position is responsible for analyzing the existing application and tech component portfolio across the Group, looking for modernization and optimization opportunities in alignment with the Group and enterprise goals, making recommendations and helping delivery teams execute on those recommendations.
This position will be working closely with the LOB partners, Enterprise Data teams, CIOs and Application managers to ensure adoption, report on progress and assist in the migration of applications, adoption of modern DevOps tooling and re-architecting applications were necessary.
Responsibilities will include:
Working with the LOB business leaders, application managers, and Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Infrastructure Architects, and project teams to analyze our technology portfolio and provide recommendations for simplification, modernization and optimization of our technology assets.
Provide architecture leadership to project teams and product owners tied to enhancements and new functionality
Ability to collaborate with a team of architects to create and implement solution architecture components while working closely with LOB partners, CTO and Application managers.
Conducts complex technology and system assessments for architecture solutions
Ensures applications adhere to established Company's policies, methodologies and industry best practices.
Participates in the definition of future technology architecture and strategy.
Stays abreast of emerging technologies and capabilities in order to prepare and respond to customer needs and expectations.
Understands compliance and risk management requirements for supported areas.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience designing software solutions using software architecture design principles.
5+ years of experience in application & data architecture and solution design.
5+ years of application portfolio management experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in one or a combination of the following: systems, applications, architecture planning and application portfolio management
Experience with DevOps tooling and processes
Exposure to Cloud based app implementations and Cloud migrations (private, public)
Exposure to agile software development and tools
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
3+ year of experience using an industry standard modeling language

5+ Experience in the financial industry business and technology landscapes.
