Job Description:As an Experience Design Manager you will

Manage and mentor teams of designers in creating visions and designs as well as partnering with product, technology and business to elevate the great work the XD organization does.

Hold each team member to the highest level of quality and professionalism.

Ensure a portfolio of design work is delivered on time and on budget while finding creative ways to get the most out of teams, partners, and processes.

Create and evolve experience the experience architecture of our evolving products, features and platforms.

Thinks beyond one design solution and one technical platform, seeking smart reusability and variability.

Proactively seeks out strategic partnerships across organizations at every level.

Actively participates in design meetings and critiques, ensuring adherence to standards while keeping an eye out for improvements or reasonable exceptions.

Leverage and expand upon our design system, pushing for both design quality as well as system excellence.

Evangalize and evolve our XD practice, culture and craft.

You’re a person who has (required skills)

10+ years of design experience with a dazzling portfolio of designs.

6+ years of work experience as lead/senior designer and track record managing and inspiring people to achieve their maximum potential.

Expert in user-centered design methodologies and rapid ideation processes like Lean UX, Design Sprints, and Fail-Fast.

Expert in designing for responsive web and mobile apps.

Expert in multi-channel industry standards and best practices.

Expert with Sketch and InVision.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, including exceptional listening and consultative capabilities and writing skills

Strong organizational and influencing skills across teams, ability to engage stakeholders, to understand change readiness, manage differences and create buy-in

Work co-located with other designers and partners. (Not remote.)

Travel up to 20% of time.

Is an enthusiastic, highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and an intense focus on achieving results.

Collaborates effectively to get things done, building and nurturing strong relationships.

Is exceptional at problem-solving, issue resolution, and time management.

Demonstrates strong listening, communication, and presentation skills.

Is a continuous learner who adapts quickly and positively to change.

Embraces the opportunity to work side by side with other designers, engineers and partners in a studio context (not remote).

You’ll be better prepared if you have (desired skills)

Master’s degree in design or Bachelors with compensating experience.

Financial industry, digital agency, or similar experience preferred.

Experience as lead or senior designer.

Project management experience.
