Our client in Charlotte, NC is seeking a

Security Analyst to undertake day to day next-generation firewall administration, support, and operations.

Responsibilities of the Security Analyst:
  • Perform firewall policy administration
  • Maintain security framework
  • Participate in security improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to team knowledge base
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of security infrastructure
  • Document work performed
  • Interact with business partners and other IT Teams as necessary to understand, apply, and enforce security requirements.
  • Make recommendations on potential security issues
  • Participate in on-call rotation duties
  • Provide increased availability during inclement weather, cyber, and significant incidents
  • Deploy code upgrades and end of life firewall hardware replacements
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts during service disruption events

Requirements of the Security Analyst:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related IT field (High School diploma or GED also considered)
  • Cisco CCNA Certification
  • 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) and/or CISCO Certified
  • Ability to analyze firewall security and traffic logs.
  • Experience tuning intrusion and malware detection capabilities on Palo Alto platform
  • Experience with logging profiles and security profiles
  • Virtual and cloud firewall experience
  • Experience with various edge security devices and architecture
  • General networking understanding and/or experience to include Understanding of TCP/IP communications & knowledge of how common protocols and applications work at the network level including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, and SMB
  • Working knowledge of VPN configuration and troubleshooting
  • Windows, UNIX/Linux, Python, or related command line and scripting experience for automation and efficiency efforts
  • Experience with forensics, IOCs, and malware analysis concepts and methods
