We are ideally looking for someone with advanced diagnostic and repair skills for Recreational Vehicle (RV) coach systems, generators and coach body repairs. Someone who is passionate about fixing mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and maintenance problems would be ideal. A successful Recreational Vehicle (RV) Technician will have strong attention to detail, be self-motivated and well-versed in all maintenance and repairs. Camping World will pay to certify individuals not already certified. Pay is based on experience and a flat-rate fee structure with uncapped earning potential. Essential Job Functions:
Provides diagnostic, repair or replacement services on customers gas or diesel motorhomes
Perform maintenance such as engine and transmission service, brake jobs, dash a/c and heat, steering and suspension work, also works on vehicle electrical systems.
Provides "cradle to grave" customer service
Keeps track of parts and materials used in repair or replacement activities
Plans sequence of functions necessary for repair or replacement activities
Keep units and equipment secure from weather
Keeps supervisor apprised of work progress and ensures that the final work product is inspected by supervisor or designee
Demonstrates operation of newly installed equipment
Performs related troubleshooting tasks based on skill level
Monitors operation of newly installed equipment
Maintains a safe work area for customers and coworkers
Monitors operation of newly installed equipment
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned and performs duties at company established performance levels
Essential Job Skills:
ASE Certification or one to two years of experience working on trucks and large vehicles or equivalent
RVIA certification or one to two years of experience as a RV service repair technician highly desired
High school education or equivalent Working knowledge of activities, methods, procedures and policies of the shop
Read, interpret and speak English
Basic math skills needed
Working knowledge of proper and safe use of equipment
Excellent organizational/sequencing skills
Familiarization with reading and interpreting diagrams
Valid Driver's License
Forklift experience/certification preferred or ability to be certified required
Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crawling, and bending
May lift up to 25 lbs and/or move up to 50 lbs. with assistive devices
Exposure to heights and hazards related to working with electrical and welding equipment
Environmental conditions include heat, cold, humidity, noise, dust and wetness
