This individual develops strategies and executes them in alignment with corporate and division commercial strategy.Responsibilities

Develop product and capability strategy as it pertains to catalog and custom products.

Identify product and category gaps in our capabilities portfolio; explore new strategic supplier relationships worldwide that address supplier and product gaps.

Benchmark competition and customers, and perform market research (primary or secondary) and Voice of Customer to guide our product development strategy vs. competition

Evolve and leverage existing global supplier relationships to identify product development opportunities. Lead contract negotiation strategy and ownership of contract completion and execution.

Assess portfolio gaps in worldwide markets and determine best alignment with new suppliers to meet the requirements of each regional market.

Serve as a product champion with internal stakeholders, regional teams, and directly with key accounts.

Leverage BPD commercial teams worldwide and lead development of global commercial GTM strategy to drive revenue

Create formal business cases, including financial pro-forma, market analysis, customer needs assessment, and other critical elements of the New Product Introduction process.

Prepare necessary presentations and reports in order to gain necessary buy-in and approval from key management stakeholders.

Develop and evolve the long-term strategy for self-manufactured production chemicals and custom packaging solutions.

Execute projects according to defined project timelines and be accountable for agreed milestones and launch dates.

Follow new product introduction process best practices.

Develop and launch new products and services.

Negotiate long-term private label rights to suppliers’ portfolios.

Negotiate distribution, quality, and confidentiality contracts and secure the most advantageous position for the company regarding pricing and commercial support, while ensuring that Doe & Ingalls will meet customers’ supply and quality commitments.

Align with Thermo Fisher’s overall Bioproduction strategy as pertains to related business units within Thermo Fisher that support production.

Develop and execute a private label product plan for our key suppliers including all commercial and operational aspects. This position plays the lead role in the OEM relationship.

Conduct regular business reviews and provide conflict management as needed.

Conduct and/or coordinate supplier and product and application training as needed. Support the sales process through the development of sales literature and tools.

Incorporate product related communication plans in conjunction and alignment with the Communications plan.

Travel to suppliers’ sites, industry events and customers as needed to gather intelligence, build supplier relationships and support the growth of the portfolio.

Provide support during RFP process by leading communication with current and target suppliers.

Provide guidance and supplier support to Sales Coordinators regarding product sourcing requests.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years work experience including at least 2 years of work experience working closely with multiple functional areas, including sales, marketing, manufacturing, R&D, quality, regulatory, operations, finance, etc…

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or a scientific field. An advanced degree in business (MBA) or science (MS or PhD) is strongly preferred.

Experience working on global teams, across multiple cultures and time zones

Previous experience with Private Label / OEM / Custom Products strongly preferred.

Exposure to, Biopharma manufacturing/ R&D is preferred. Previous experience with sourcing and/or distribution is essential.

Excellent interpersonal and cross cultural skills, customer orientation and problem solving, can-do attitude. Fluency in a major European or Asian language is preferred.

Must be able to multi-task and prioritize.

Ability to manage across functions and exert influence and lead without direct line authority.

Ability to present and articulate activities and results to senior leadership.

Fluency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in product/portfolio management is required, including NPI processes. Prior Fortune 500 company experience preferred.

Strong financial acumen.

Expert in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Experience with Salesforce CRM or other CRM reporting is desirable.

Up to 30-40% travel.
