Toshiba is looking for a full-time Logistics Specialist. As the Logistics Specialist, you will provide support to the Global Logistics team, and be responsible for the day-to-day and tactical management of logistics functions necessary to support inbound and outbound domestic and international movements for the development and production of Toshiba’s global network and operations. This position requires highly organized coordination, rapid response follow-up and superior problem-solving skills and creativity to satisfy both customer’s needs and business requirements in a high-volume work environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations against established targets to ensure that logistics is aligned and meets business requirements of supply chain and production stakeholders as needed.
Partner with supply chain entities to ensure that logistics criteria, vendor routing, and network processes meet business needs.
Serve as liaison between production and/or internal customer base and external logistics providers, providing quotes, arranging freight, communicating logistics protocols, and providing instructions to vendors and logistics partners.
As necessary, coordinating the transport of inbound and outbound movements, both domestically and internationally using appointed freight forwarders and logistics providers.
Coordinate and track movement of goods through logistic pathways. Tracks, traces, and updates status for inbound material and acts as the point of contact for logistics-related issues at site(s) communicating directly with internal and external customers.
Ensure business practices not only guarantee the movement of product in a quality manner, but also meet those needs outlined in regulatory documentation, internal requirements, and customer flow-downs.
Communicates with vendors, forwarders, and logistics providers on documentation requirements, scheduling criteria, and model changes as required
Make corrections, as necessary, to international shipping documentation to ensure export and import guidelines are met.
Obtain all necessary information and/or documentation, file any freight claims, and follow through until payment. Reporting status on a regular basis.
Review Restricted Party Listing matches in Oracle GTM system daily
Print and/or retrieve necessary documentation from internal systems to assist with international shipments.
Create and/or maintain logistics related data in Excel spreadsheets as required.
Identifies process gaps and makes recommendations/corrective actions to policies and providers to manager about logistics networks.
Resolve issues and contributes to company performance by responding to changing product developments, manufacturing network changes and distribution needs
Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, share best practices, and develop systems knowledge.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, International Business/Trade
2 to 5+ years’ experience in Global or Domestics Logistics, Import, and/or Exports
Experience working with carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, 3PL, and/or parcel providers
Understanding of supply chain, logistics and manufacturing processes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify very complex problems, review related information, develop and analyze options, and recommend solutions
Intermediate or better Excel skills and familiarity with other MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) products
Copes effectively with complexity and change; adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
Possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong problem solving, negotiation and time management skills.
Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks, all with an attention to fine detail.
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
Business and project management experience in a corporate setting
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity of Oracle (Global Trade Management, Supply Chain, Shipping, OBIEE)
Knowledge of Incoterms
