Team member will have sufficient experience as a skilled bridge worker, preferably as a crew lead man. A working knowledge of bridge construction and the associated facets of bridge construction are also required.

Familiar with equipment used for bridge construction

Familiar with NCDOT specifications

General understanding of construction surveying

Core Duties:

Be punctual, dependable and professional always

Work with cost effectiveness, profitability and safety in mind

Lead by example

Lead the safety effort by recognizing and correcting hazards as soon as they are present. Be the #1 safety advocate for your crew

Plan the anticipated work of the crew one day in advance

Notify superintendent this week of equipment and material needs for next week

Identify tasks that need to be done and assign team members to support effort

Work with/train team members who show potential and share this information with the superintendent

Notify superintendent of assistance needed for layout work that is beyond your comfort level

Work closely with the site inspector to keep him/her informed of your work plans. Within reason, make this person an ally and not an adversary

Communicate time away from work with your team leader and other team members with sufficient notice to make plans for changing personnel to focus on the priorities

Willingness to work hours as required

Education/Training/Certification:

OSHA Supervisor Training

Level II Erosion Control Supervisor

Qualified Traffic Control Supervisor

Flagger

Rigger

Signal Person

Trenching and Shoring Competent Person

First Aid/CPR

Forklift
