Mortuary Transporter/Funeral Attendant. Do you have experience in funeral/mortuary service or health care? Funeral establishment with multicultural clientele seeks a mortuary transporter/funeral attendant. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is a temporary position (called as needed). Compensation is per case (transport) or per ceremony. Under the direction of the licensed funeral director or funeral service licensee, assist with funeral services as needed. The duties include but are not limited to: transportation or removal of a dead human body from the location of the place of death or discovery of death or the transport of the body to or from a medical facility, funeral establishment or facility, crematory or related holding facility, place of final disposition, or place designated by the Medical Examiner for examination or autopsy of the dead human body, assistance with funerals and visitations, transport families for funeral or memorial services; Must:
o Be dependable
o Be a team player; ability to work with others is paramount
o Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Have attention to detail
o Demonstrate empathy towards grieving families
o Have ability to lift 175+ lbs
o Have a valid NC driver license with a clean driving record
o Professional attire (business suit)
o Be capable of passing drivers license and criminal background check
Preference will be given to individuals with funeral home/mortuary experience or mortuary school students with a sincere interest in learning the business and art of funeral service. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. This position requires a real passion for funeral and mortuary services and the willingness and patience to serve.
