Heavy Civil Project Superintendent NORTH CAROLINA

New, rapidly growing, construction company with home office in Clemmons, North Carolina is seeking experienced HEAVY CIVIL PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT for projects in the North Carolina Area.
We specialize in small to medium-sized Heavy Civil Construction projects with focus on Stormwater Improvements for public and private owners including Dams, Large Pipe and Culvert Systems, and Concrete Water Control Structures as well as general Site Development, Mass Excavation and Grading, Water and Sewer Utilities, and Rock Drilling and Blasting Services.
Must be organized, willing to travel within North Carolina, and able to work independently without constant direction and/or guidance. We dont want to hire smart people and tell them what to do. We are looking for smart people who can determine what needs to be done and then collaborate, lead, direct and/or execute to assure it gets done.
Bachelors Degree (preferred) and Minimum five (5) years of Superintendent Experience in Mass Excavation, Grading and Roadways, Precast Structures, Culverts & Large Diameter Pipe, Pipelines for Water and Sewer Utilities, and/or Concrete and Bridge Construction is Required
Must be able to read, interpret, and understand Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications. This senior-level position oversees and coordinates Project Field Operations for assigned Project(s) to assure successful delivery of Quality Construction Project Work in accordance with plans, specifications and other owner Contract Requirements.
Our ideal candidate will continually collaborate and communicate with Project Manager, General Superintendent, Chief Engineer and Field Staff in order to effectively coordinate the execution of construction work. This senior-level position oversees and coordinates all Labor, Equipment, Materials, and Subcontractors to assure successful delivery of Quality Construction Project Work in accordance with project schedule requirements.
Must be able to lead, motivate, and successfully direct all Field Personnel including various task Foremen (e.g. grading, pipe, concrete, etc.), Heavy Equipment Operators, Construction Labor, and Subcontractors (e.g., surveyor, trucking, specialty work, etc.).
Must be able to comply, adhere to, and enforce all OSHA Safety requirements as may be applicable to our work. Must have (or be willing and able to complete as soon as practical) current OSHA competent person training in Excavation and Trench Safety, Hoisting & Rigging, Confined Space, Fall Protection, First Aid, and related as may be applicable to our work. Overall Project Safety, Employee Safety & Safety Training required to complete Quality Construction Projects in a Safe Manner is our top priority.
Basic computer skills and functionality in MS Office including Excel, Word and Outlook (E-mail) are Required. Daily Diaries and/or Superintendent Reports, Tracking of Daily Labor Time, Equipment Hours, Changes in Work & Owner Directives, Cost Coding, Two (2) Week Schedules and Similar (e.g., planning, record keeping, daily notes) and as necessary are basic requirements of this job.
