Determine requirement compliance of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic parts and materials through visual inspection, electrical or mechanical screening, physical measurements and data analysis, and other tasks as assigned. What you bring to the table:


  • Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical or electro-mechanical discipline or the equivalent of 5 years' experience. In addition, a minimum of 1 year of directly related experience is required

  • Prior fiber optics experience a plus

  • Ability to learn industry standards such as J-STD-001, 002, IPC-610, etc and successfully complete certification instruction and testing

  • Detail oriented; results driven

  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, schematics, etc

  • Knowledge, understanding and experience with reviewing and conducting acceptance testing, performing/coordinating inspections though accepted methodologies and practices

  • Experience and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) a plus

  • Knowledge of problem reporting, root cause corrective action tools and ability to facilitate/coordinate decisions and actions

  • Experience extracting, organizing and interpreting process data and ability to make improvement recommendations

  • Excellent understanding of flowing quality requirements to suppliers/sub-contractors

  • Strong ability to develop quality documentation (inspection plans, first article inspections, test reports, etc) using computer tools and applications, such as InspectionXpert or VisualFAIR

  • Strong ability to work cross functionally between associates, engineering groups, manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and supplier representatives

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and administration of Quality records and metrics

  • Proficiency in the use of Manufacturing/Enterprise IT Systems

  • Actively engage shop associates and office staff daily

  • A willingness and ability to obtain a secret clearance in a reasonable amount of time
