Seeking a full-time Material Handler (Forklift Operator) for our Shipping & Receiving Department. We are a busy and growing millwork manufacturer in Lenoir, NC.
Experience loading flat bed trailers and vans is a plus but not required.
SAP experience is a plus but not required.
Shipping / Receiving experience is a plus but not required.
A STRONG WORK ETHIC AND SOLID WORK HISTORY IS REQUIRED !
Job Summary:
Material handlers are responsible for the accurate tracking of products from arrival until departure for delivery to the customer. They ensure system and physical inventory accuracy and execute inventory directives. Material handlers identify, transport, and stage products within manufacturing, warehouse, and / or receiving and shipping areas. This position supports inventory warehouse management and manufacturing execution. Material handlers interface with inventory control, manufacturing, production planning and scheduling, transportation, and sister companies.
Abilities:
* Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
* Must be friendly, professional and courteous in all interactions.
* Requires outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills, memory skills, communication skills and the ability to work with little supervision.
* Ability to safely and accurately operate material handling equipment (forklifts, hand-held devices, computers, etc) and obtain proper certifications.
* Ability to adapt to changing pace and priorities.
Physical Demands:
* Ability to lift 50 pounds.
* Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
* Regular bending, stooping, stretching, twisting and turning.
* Frequently required to stand, walk, sit and get on and off the forklift.
* Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
Working Environment:
* Noise level is usually moderate but can be extreme (hearing protection required).
* Exposure to heat and cold extremes.
* Overtime and weekends when needed or requested.
* Exposure to potentially hazardous production areas (heavy equipment traffic, slip/trip hazards, airborne dust/debris, etc).
