JOB DESCRIPTION
We are hiring a GRADING FOREMAN and HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORS who have experience in earthwork, grading and roadway projects. This position requires the ability to coordinate and manage daily work of a grading crew so that the job is done safely and delivered on time. State DOT and municipal work is a must. Work is currently throughout western North Carolina with immediate positions open in North Wilkesboro, NC.

Skills and Experience:
Supervise crew in a heavy highway/construction environment.
Lead field operations to ensure safety, quality & productivity and oversee compliance with all safety policies and OSHA regulations
Plan and manage production and safety of the project
Monitor and improve crew productions and understand goals
Communicate with professionally and effectively with inspectors
Review construction plans to determine design and specifications
Assists project management in ensuring that all work meets specifications
Maintains accurate reporting of materials used and time reporting of crew members
Must be able to establish alignment and grade with the use of a laser.
Must be able to coordinate all other activities in the excavation.
Follows policies and procedures to ensure the job is done properly
Additional Requirements:
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Ability to adapt to and learn a variety of computer applications

Must have ability to oversee entire construction project from start to finish
Able to complete required duties in a fast-paced environment and within stated deadlines
Must be willing to travel
Work average of 10 hour days, 5-6 days per week
Must possess a clean valid driver's license
Verifiable References
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent not required, but preferred
A minimum of 5-7 years' experience in grading, heavy-civil earthwork
A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in managing a grading crew
