What You Will Do:

Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations, the Packaging Manager leads a department responsible for safely packaging innovative brands in multiple package formats while conforming to rigorous quality standards. Develops and leads strategic initiatives while managing their cost center and reducing wastes through continuous improvement. Accountable for several KPI's including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE.)

• Leads a team of 40+ employees to create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement focused on safety, quality, efficiency and waste reduction
• Manage, supervise and develop a cross-functional team of packaging employees; including team-building, coaching and building respectful and meaningful relationships
• Develops and implements the mission, vision and strategic plan for the Packaging Department
• Hiring, evaluation and disciplinary action of department employees
• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with all policies, applicable state laws and OSHA regulations
• Provide technical expertise and direction for packaging material specifications and equipment designs, layout, installation and startup
• Supports and optimizes the maintenance and production plans on multiple high speed packaging lines
• Collaborates with peers to meet KPI objectives and to develop short and long term goals
• Creates departmental budget while tracking expenditures and usage

Education and Work Qualifications:

• REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree in a technical field ( engineering or food science)
  - OR - combination of education and experience where comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
• 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment (or equivalent) required (preferably in beverage and/or food manufacturing)
• 3 years team leadership experience required
• Demonstrated mechanical ability & technical aptitude; knowledge of complex systems, automated processes and quality control
