Network Infra & Security Engineer
What you'll be doing
The primary goal of this position is to provide an intermediate level opportunity in SecOps in the support of Managed Services Infrastructure. Responsibilities include closely monitoring activity throughout the enterprise infrastructure, including private, public and hybrid cloud environments. Monitoring of security events and the operational status and performance of deployed applications and platforms. Ability to deploy and use tools, processes, and technology to keep the enterprise secure while reducing risk. You will be expected to own and drive the resolution of highly complex user and application issues both during normal business hours and maintenance activities. This position will also participate in project related activities to include requirements gathering, solution analysis and supporting principal level engineers.
You will collaborate with various internal teams across Verizon. Activities including but not limited to Change, Incident, Problem and Risk Management.
What you will be working on:
Monitoring and assessing risk and protecting infrastructure assets to include Cisco routers, switches, various firewalls, Cisco UCS and storage arrays.
Management of platforms to include CyberArk, Firemon and Splunk.
Configuration, implementation and troubleshooting of firewalls and networking equipment. New technology assessments and integration.
You need to have:
Bachelor degree and minimum of 3 years' experience; or 5+ years of relevant work experience with Cisco networking and switching platforms.
Must have or be able to obtain a GSA public trust clearance. Experience in configuring and managing SecOps platforms. Intermediate level knowledge of WAN and LAN technologies.
Intermediate level understanding of configuration for routing protocols, VPN and switching. Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems Must be a motivated self-starter with an interest in new technology and eager to learn. Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where new challenges come up every day. You are flexible, dependable and work well in varying environments.
Flexibility - with work hours, as position may be required to work an off-shift or on-call.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor's degree in SecOps or CyberSecurity.
Excellent communications skills and ability to deliver results under pressure.
Experience with firewalls and security policies is a plus. Experience with creation and support of Ansible playbooks Experience with AWS cloud networks.
Entry level experience and understanding of Linux and/or Windows.
Perl, Python or shell scripting skills. Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Visio experience.
