As a Parasail Mate, you will assist the captain with important duties related to the operation of the boat while entertaining and keeping guests safe.
This position is available May-September. We have a location Manteo and in Duck. Generally, we can't take college students that leave in August.
We do not have housing available.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Working and enduring long shifts in the elements on a speedboat.
Preparing and cleaning the vessel and equipment
Ensuring safety procedures are followed
Assisting guests throughout the duration of the trip.
Taking photos of guests, but photography experience is not necessary.
To join our team, you must:
Have good interpersonal communication skills to interact with customers and staff
Be an EXCELLENT SWIMMER
Must be physically able to bend, stoop, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
Pass pre-employment drug screen
Pass on-going random drug tests
Be punctual and reliable
Be comfortable and capable of working a physically demanding job.
Must be 18 years of age.
It'd be nice if you also had:
Some boat mechanical knowledge
Previous experience with boat driving
Sales/Entertainment experience
First Aid/CPR
Training pay will be $10 per/hr and after complete, wage increased to $12. Wage can go up to $14 depending on experience. There are tips and commissions for services that the captain offers on the boat. Mates that are outgoing or have a sales background that can maintain a good attitude through a long tough day make more money.
