Hornthal, Riley, Ellis & Maland, LLP seeks a full time Front Desk Receptionist and Office Assistant for our Nags Head office. The Front Desk Receptionist provides the first and last impression of our firm to our existing clients, potential clients and business associates; therefore, our receptionist plays a vital role in our firm.
The Front Desk Receptionist and Office Assistant must be able to perform the following essential job functions:
Interact daily with attorneys, clients, potential clients and various other professionals
Transcribe dictation
Superior client service
Answer a multi line phone system
Direct clients, applicants, and other business associates to meetings
Data entry
Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail
Process outgoing mail
Receive and distribute incoming faxes
Send outgoing faxes
Operate copier, scanner, postage meter, computer, typewriter and other office equipment
Run errands and handle hand deliveries as needed
Maintain safe and clean reception area and conference rooms
Scan paper files to electronic files
Assist attorneys or staff as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work without close supervision, provide excellent customer service, possess exceptional communication skills and phone etiquette, ability to work well in fast paced law office environment, ability to adapt well to change and adjust appropriately, respond promptly to client needs, maintain confidentiality, demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail, exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 1 - 3 customer service experience
Good computer skills / Typing skills
Experience using Microsoft Office applications
Experience using general office equipment
High school diploma (GED)
Knowledge of law firm policies and procedures is preferred but not required
