Our client, one of the top US investment banks, is seeking a Business Analyst 3 (Non IT)

Location: Raleigh, NC

Position Type: Contract

Job Summary:

The candidate will be a business/data analyst in the Investment Banking CUSO CDO Metadata Mgmt Team in Raleigh, supporting all in-scope data management programs specifically in completing the DMF (Data Management Framework) metadata work such as business lineage, business glossary and business objects for identified Critical Data Elements (CDE's) owned by the Investment Banking Division

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

-Completing business lineage (data lineage) for an assortment of regulatory reports/processes with various consumers being Risk and Compliance (CRCO), Finance (CFO) and Group Operations (GOPS) that will conduct data element/CDE traceability back to data sources that essentially validates where data comes from in IB applications

-Supporting business glossary (data elements) for the above mentioned regulatory reports by registering in the enterprise wide tool Collibra that distinguishes key data concepts such as Data Element, Definition, Data Owner, Data Steward, Approved Source etc.

-Defining business objects that ultimately aggregate our data elements under select System of Records (SoR)

-Working directly with downstream project managers and SME's (IT and Business) from GM, Finance, Liquidity, Risk and -Compliance to provide guidance to our excel based lineage template for both CDE traceability and full lineage so that they can complete Collibra data lineage asset uploads

-To work directly with Group IT (EDT) to ensure lineage and glossary are uploaded and recorded in Collibra in an accurate and organized fashion

-Supporting IB Business CDE discussions by helping create a formal list of all proposed CDE's that will be presented to various Data Stewards and Data Owners

Additional responsibilities:

-Ability to interact with all SME's (Subject Matter Experts) in both business and technology in all front to back teams in IB, Ref Data, Operations, Risk & Finance & Compliance to support data lineage efforts

-Ability to work with the Enterprise Data Tooling team (EDT) to ensure successful data lineage uploads

-Ability to multi-task numerous projects and/or requirements concurrently

-Ability to communicate effectively and drive project (lineage) meetings when necessary

-Ability to produce both high level and detailed workflow diagrams and PowerPoint presentations when required and drive overall business analysis with interested parties

-Ability to create & comprehend pivot tables/formulas in MS Excel for various data analysis requests

-Ability to support various PMO job functions including maintenance of project status reports, RAID's and financial/budget requests

-Ability to forge solid rapports with all key Investment Banking CUSO CDO teams as well as support areas in Risk, Finance, Compliance and Operations

-Ability to work under strenuous schedules when necessary (e.g. greater than 8 hrs)

-Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines largely determined by IB CUSO CDO management

Key Qualifications and/or other requirements:

-Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a business/data analyst capacity in supporting a front to back project environment in regard to support of the data management lifecycle (data lineage preferred)

-Minimum 2 years' experience in banking/financial institution industry

-Good understanding/literacy of investment banking/derivative products and the front to back trade lifecycle

-Strong communication skills both written and oral- lead/drive meetings when required

-Good time management skills and proven ability in meeting deadlines and working in a pressurized project team facing high pressure and results-driven team environment

-Strong literacy in Microsoft Excel and MS Visio and MS PowerPoint

-Data Tools experience (Collibra, Tableau, Informatica) preferred but not mandatory

-The Investment Banking CUSO CDO Team is a challenging and fast-paced department which is responsible for overall delivery of critical regulatory data programs throughout the investment bank. As this business analyst role is an integral part of our success for IHC, the candidate will be supporting key projects to ensure overall delivery is completed per original plans established.

-Investment Banking CUSO CDO is responsible for the management and delivery of IB data programs.
