DevOps & Release Manager - Raleigh NC

This is a true hybrid role where skills in software development, cloud architecture, networking, security, and systems administration can be applied daily, and offers the opportunity to work with a virtually endless array of technology, tools, patterns, and practices.

In your role as the DevOps & Release Manager you will be an integral part of a team responsible for end-to-end enablement of moving to the public cloud. Your mission is to create an environment that lives and breathes automation and works to continuously improve the product outcomes.

The ideal candidate for this role will excel at learning new technologies and will be comfortable balancing multiple priorities both large and small across a wide variety of technology specialty areas.

Role-Specific Responsibilities


  • Provide L2-3 operational support to application teams in Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform

  • Deploy and manage cloud resources using infrastructure-as-code patterns and tooling

  • Provide cloud architecture, engineering, and tooling guidance to application teams moving to the cloud

  • Participate as a member of an Agile Release Train, continuously delivering value to our stakeholders

  • Leverage your knowledge of public cloud patterns, practices and tooling to enhance our client business outcomes and our service offering




Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or relevant experience and accomplishments

  • 4+ years of experience in a relevant technology role

  • 2+ years of experience architecting, deploying, supporting IaaS and PaaS cloud infrastructure in Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform

  • 2+ years of experience deploying, configuring, managing Linux and Windows systems in large scale environment

  • 1+ years of experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet

  • Demonstrated proficiency with one or more relevant programming or scripting languages. Examples include Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Linux shell scripting

  • Exceptional communication skills, and the ability to communicate professionally with both business and technical teams

  • Ability to participate in periodic on-call rotation

  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available




Preferred


  • Experience with CICD pipelines with tools like Azure Devops, GitLab, GitHub Actions, AWS Code Build/Code Pipeline, Jenkins

  • Working knowledge of container/microservice patterns and tools, for example Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, AWS EKS, Azure ACS, Azure AKS, Google GKE

  • Working knowledge of serverless cloud architecture

  • Experience with Linux/open systems packaging mechanisms like APT, RPM, PyPi, or similar

  • Experience with APM/monitoring tools such as Microsoft OMS, AppDynamics, DataDog, or NewRelic

  • Experience with analytics tools such as Splunk, Elastic stack

  • Knowledge of non-relational databases like Cassandra or MongoDB, and relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL

  • General knowledge of networking, DNS, Active Directory, firewalls, load balancers
