ICF International seeks a Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Relationships to work on national technical assistance projects. The position will lead engagement with immigrant and refugee communities and key stakeholders in support of federal initiatives. The Director will use his/her knowledge and expertise to develop and sustain collaborative relationships with immigrant communities and stakeholders to support outreach efforts and engagement activities aimed at connecting individuals with services.The Director will be responsible for setting the vision for engaging immigrating communities and the day-to-day operations of planning, coordination, and oversight of participation in on-site community events and outreach activities. The position directly supervises Community Engagement Specialists to support engagement of Afghan and other immigrating communities nationwide and provides task oversight to team members work on event logistics and coordination. This position will also analyze data, collect information, distill research, identify, and organize resources and other information that supports immigrants in navigating the US immigration system.Supervised by: Project DirectorSupervises: Community Engagement Specialists (multiple)Key Responsibilities

Set vision for engaging immigrating communities.

Develop creative solutions and identify strategies for executing engagement of immigrating communities.

Present solutions and plans to the client

Represent ICF at national and international conferences on work with immigrating communities.

Directly oversee a team of community engagement Specialists working directly with immigrant and refugee communities across the United States.

Develop strategic partnerships with government, community stakeholders, and legal service providers serving immigrant and refugee communities.

Implement the strategy and framework to support community outreach and engagement to raise awareness of service offered.

Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of nonprofit and other organizations and stakeholders working with immigrant populations.

Maintain strong relationships with partner and potential partner organizations and community stakeholders, networking and communicating regularly to build strong relationships in the field.

Work with the Project Team to identify strategic partners and form collaborative partnerships.

Develop and maintain partnerships that support the project’s work in targeted outreach and representation of the program in target communities.

Represent the program to high level stakeholders and at community events.

Travel required up to 50% of the time for community outreach.

Basic Qualifications

Master’s degree in social work, public administration, business administration or related field which requires collaboration and networking.

Experience leading efforts to develop and implement engagement strategies at the national level.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder and partner relationships, including balancing multiple perspectives/needs.

10+ years working in an environment that requires knowledge of the refugee, immigrant, and asylee services.

Experience working directly with refugees, immigrants, or asylees.

Strong knowledge of legal issues and challenges facing refugees and immigrants in the United States.

Cultural competency and working knowledge of issues facing immigrant and refugees communities in the U.S.

Must be able to obtain a Tier 2 security clearance.

Must have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territories for 3 of the last 5 years (for non-US Citizens)

Preferred Skills

Working knowledge of the refugee, immigrant, and asylee challenges.

Experience working for a refugee program or with a community organization serving refugees and immigrants.

Experience conducting research on refugee and immigration issues.

Published author on the topic of immigration.

Experience presenting at national and international conferences on immigration.

Professional Skills

Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Ability to be flexible, multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Excellent verbal, oral, interpersonal and written communication skills, including experience with developing and delivering presentations, writing, and blogging social media content.

Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy.

Strong organizational and time management skills.
