The Durham, a 53-room hotel in the iconic mid-century Home Savings Bank in downtown Durham, is currently seeking a morning baker to join our team! The venue includes both a restaurant with a full dinner menu and a rooftop lounge that offers a raw bar menu with shareable plates and snacks. The Durham is a collaboration between James Beard award-winning chef Andrea Reusing and a diverse group of local creative partners.
Requirements:
- Have at least 1 year experience in a full service, fine dining restaurant.
- Have experience in pastry production.
- Have the desire to work in a team-driven environment of like-minded fellow cooks.
- Have the desire to learn new techniques & a willingness to grow in the role.
- Have a passion for agriculture and small farms.
- Have ability to lift 25 lbs or more.
- Knowledge of cooking procedures, safety, and sanitation.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
