Arts Administrator Part-Time Job (Pittsboro, North Carolina)

Vacancy expired!

This 20 hour/week position is challenging, versatile, and critical to making camp run! As our Arts Administrator, you will divide your time between detail-oriented tasks”running payroll, filing camp taxes, and managing accounting and camp-season paperwork”and project oriented tasks like fundraising initiatives, managing our website, communicating with parents, and sending out a monthly newsletter to our camp community, as well as coordinating our participation at outreach events in the area. You will be joining an experienced and dedicated team including the camp founder, long-time teaching staff, established administrative assistants and project coordinators, as well as enthusiastic volunteers and students interns who are devoted to camp and ready to help you succeed. If your personal vision includes someday starting a project of your own, this job will give you mentorship and experience in managing multiple elements of a complex, vibrant project.

We are looking for the unique candidate who loves young people, art in its many forms, and the earth, AND is genuinely excited to work in an administrative realm. The behind- the- scenes work includes spreadsheets, number crunching, and filing, so if you enjoy bringing order to a variety of moving parts AND get genuine satisfaction out of making dreamy things possible, this could be the job for you!

Other important skills include: familiarity with Google docs, spreadsheets, social media, poster design, etc., excellent writing skills, excellent organizational skills (time management, reliability), and honest, open communication. Because our camp environment is one of rich diversity, welcoming families of all kinds, experience with cultural, political, religious, and economic diversity is important. Spanish language skills are a big plus!

Finally, we are seeking a candidate who is comfortable working as part of a team, but who is courageous in taking ownership over projects and sticking their nose out on behalf of camp. Clapping Hands Farm Camp is a dazzling, magical thing, but it is not always entirely chaos-free, so flexibility is another important piece of the puzzle.

Please send a resume and cover letter to the listed email.

Timeline: (NOTE: Timeline flexible”- we will keep the search open until we have filled the position; if we identified an excellent candidate early in the process, we are open to moving up the start date to March or April.)
