Volt Workforce Solutions is hiring for a Order Picker Team Lead - 2nd Shift for a distribution center in Apex, N.C.This role is Direct Hire with full medical benefits effective on the first day of employment. Hours are 3:30 pm to 12:00 am, Monday through Friday.Summary
Responsible for a productive and efficient picking operation including the direction of picking team members.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance and direction to other associates ensuring productivity goals are metEnsure a positive work environment through clear and effective communication with othersMonitor and control the level of work on the floor to meet the business needsEnsure all training is provided and completed (new associates, re-training, etc.)Implement efficient distribution center processes to reduce cost and lead time and to help meet/exceed distribution center productivity targetsAllocate human resources to improve employee utilization and productivityMonitor and control associate productivity and quality performance including metrics
updates on area boardsProcess system transactions for reporting and performance measurement Communicate distribution facility policies and procedures so that they are understood and
adhered to by other distribution facility associatesEnforce all safe practices and safety guidelines including 5S in all areas of
distributionBe involved in accident investigations and resolutions to unsafe practices, behaviors, and work conditionsReport all maintenance related issues to maintenance department by following standard work order procedureParticipate in business operations as needed that may fall outside of standard shift hours
including weekendsOther duties as assignedSkill Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma/GED is requied2+ years of distribution (or relevant) experience Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to operate equipment including RF scannerAbility to provide a high level of direction and customer service under minimal
supervisionAbility to consistently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds Ability to consistently move in a full-range of motionAbility to stand for long periods of timePreferred Qualifications:Experience with a WMS, SAPExperience in data and trend analysis, root cause problem solvingAssociates degree in related field 1-2 years as a fill in or back up leadVolt is an EEO Employer.
