The Blood Connection is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician

Position Overview: Assists the efficiency and effectiveness of The Blood Connection by assuring the building (Plant) and equipment are in proper working order and items are in good quantity and in a neat and organized manner.

Duties: Understands and supports the quality goals of the company. Assists the Director of Plant and Equipment in managing the companys physical assets (plant) which include property, buildings, operational equipment, and fleet vehicles.

 Property:

o Helps oversee proper maintenance and documentation of maintenance of the companys landscaping, irrigation system, parking areas, exterior lighting, exterior displays (signs, marques, etc.), waste handling area, outside maintenance areas and other items related to upkeep of the companys real property; including scheduling of maintenance work and when qualified, performing certain maintenance procedures.

 Buildings:

o Helps to maintain and document maintenance of the companys building including; scheduling of maintenance work, and when qualified, performing certain maintenance procedures.

 Operational Equipment:

o Assists operational staff in scheduling of maintenance work, and when qualified, perform certain maintenance procedures. Assists operational staff in the record keeping of such maintenance when required.

 Fleet Vehicles (Motor-pool):

o Assists in proper maintenance, and documentation of maintenance of the companys fleet vehicles. Schedules mechanic services and when qualified, performs mechanic work on the fleet vehicles.

Secondary Duties:

 Courier duties as assigned.

 Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

 Helps maintain cleanliness, order and discipline within the company.

 Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, or technical/vocational school for

building maintenance or material management.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Valid CDL Drivers License.

Experience Requirements: One year related experience is preferred. Plant and Equipment Technician

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships in the work setting.

 Demonstrates a working knowledge of the equipment and supplies used by The Blood Connection.

 Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instruction.

 Practices good customer service techniques with clients and co-workers.

 Knowledge of Windows®based or other Microsoft Office®applications.

 Detail oriented conscious of cost control, good communicator, able to forecast supply and material need.

 Mental Demands: Varied:

o Semi-routine duties of some variety and difficulty performed under general supervision and following general operating procedures and practices.

o Work involving some planning to select correct methods and correct for error
