This is a very respectable and professional company that operates Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Their employees work in a collaborative setting. They are actively hiring for at least one Specimen Accessioner that will be a long-term team member.
Salary: $16 - $19/hr
Position Overview: The Specimen Accessioner will work as part of a team to receive and process specimens daily in a highly regulated environment. The Specimen Accessioner will follow clinical regulations, be responsible for carefully documenting all aspects of the process and manage sample storage and inventory.
Responsibilities of the Specimen Accessioner:
Accession the samples that come in throughout the day following strict regulatory guidelines
Follow SOPs and clinical regulations for processing
Record, verify and track the lifecycle of the specimen samples
Utilize databases like LIMS for data management
Manage the storage and inventory of the samples
Answer questions for customers via phone or email
Review documentation for accuracy and assisting in study documentation
Comply data to be used for regular quality initiatives
Qualifications for the Specimen Accessioner:
Professional communication skills and a personable demeanor are necessary for success as a Specimen Accessioner
Knowledge of GCP/GLP/CLIA/CAP or other similar regulations preferred
An education in the sciences is preferred
1-3 years of industry experience in a similar role accessioning/tracking specimen samples
The ability to work independently and accurately track and record data
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Education Requirements:
Certification, AS or BS in the sciences in highly preferred
