We are a 45+ year old software company seeking an energetic and motivated individual to work part-time remotely to help install/support our client/server software in corporate Windows environments. This position requires:

Knowledge of how to configure serial, USB and/or Bluetooth devices to be recognized by Windows Device Manager and troubleshoot any associated driver issues so that our software product can communicate with these devices.

Must have good research and troubleshooting skills to test electronic capture devices using data acquisition software. Knowledge of firewall and VPN configuration specifically related to figuring out which ports are necessary, then opening those ports and getting around any roadblocks put up by client internal IT, McAfee, Sophos, Crowdstrike, etc.

Experience in the following is a plus, but not mandatory: Windows group policies with respect to networking, VB6, MSDE and/or SQL Server, and DCOM.

Ability to maintain a global device database.

Must have good communication skills to coordinate activities within a distributed team using Slack and other communication tools, and common sense and initiative when it comes to communicating with clients and prospective clients.

No travel required; hours generally very flexible
