Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on a Multi-year SAP S4 Hana Core Financial Implementation knows as FIT (Finance IT)
    • Assist in setting project direction for a multi-year SAP S4 Hana Financial Implementation
    • Build out from the ground up a new SAP S4 Hana Center of Excellence including hiring appropriate talent for the IT division of Retail Business Services
    • Train and mentor members of the IT and business on SAP Core Financial solutions
    • Lead in partnership with IT, PMO, Finance Business, SAP and System Integrator the RBS efforts to establish a new SAP Core Financial System for Retail Business Services
    • Establish Program Project Plans and Budget to deliver implementation objectives
    • Report to senior leadership on efforts to deliver FIT and keep program on track and on budget
    • Participated with key stakeholders (business, IT, SI, SAP) to document business requirements for the program and translate those requirements into detailed design documentation
    • Manages the effort to build out legacy integrations with new SAP S4 Hana Core Financial Solution
    • Partners with Quality Assurance to make sure appropriate System Integration and User Acceptance Testing is performed
    • Participates in efforts to build out go-live plans for the FIT program and leads IT efforts during the go-live execution and support process
  • Maintain strategic alignment with Global Finance and IT Partners
    • Work collaboratively with Global Finance and IT peers to maintain the strategic IT objectives for FIT
    • Participate in workshops to build out a Global Template that will be used in other Ahold Delhaize implementations post US FIT efforts
    • Participate in managing the global investment portfolio for FIT and ensure that all planned investments are aligned with the business and IT stakeholders and have executive stakeholder commitment
    • Continuously evaluate, prioritize and optimize IT investment on FIT based on strategic value, business needs, cost/benefits and critical risk. The portfolio manager ensures that Investment evaluation process meets RBS's investment standards and criteria and has the proper authorization level.
    • Continuously review the program investment portfolio on FIT to identify and exploit synergies, eliminate duplication across all regions and between individual projects within this multi-year program.
    • Manages resources to support demand for the FIT program. Ensure that the solution teams efforts are properly scheduled and staffed, that all staff are properly allocated to ensure that commitments are met as scheduled and within budget. Organize and direct the solution team and third-party providers in the planning, development, implementation and operations support of systems to support the assigned portfolio.
  • Integrated planning and road mapping
    • Participates in the overall scheduling of programs and projects that best support the strategic intent of RBS IT in the areas of Solution Development Finance & Accounting
    • Scheduling of FIT projects based on financial and strategic justifications in close cooperation with business and IT stakeholders
    • Identification of direct and indirect dependencies of other projects outside of FIT
    • Updates and maintain the integrated portfolio FIT roadmap based on latest changes on project and program level
    • Facilitates integrated planning sessions across domains in support of FIT
    • Communication of a multi-layered FIT portfolio plan
    • Responsible for cost consequence within portfolio. Study, analyze, and define the impact of business needs on the system components and its interfaces to provide maximum benefits from each system and drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Monitor and report on project portfolio
    • Analyze and report on the performance of the project portfolio and individual programs throughout the entire lifecycle
    • Continuously monitor and track the full Ahold IT project portfolio, its progress and performance and the successful development of the required business and IT capabilities as it relates to FIT and the SAP COE
    • Tracking, mitigation of critical and portfolio-wide risks and issues and escalation to the appropriate IT leadership meetings. Monitor overall risk profile of project portfolio
    • Co-ordination critical project interdependencies to safeguard the coherent and integrated definition, planning and delivery of the portfolio
    • Provides senior IT and business leadership with accurate view of the project/investment portfolio based on appropriate performance targets allowing them to make rapid and effective decisions
    • Ensures life cycle assessment for selected portfolio components occurs, determining remaining useful life of hardware/software components based on business functionality, technical architecture, vendor strategies, competitor activities, and package alternatives
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure delivery across the FIT program portfolio that is in line with quality standards
    • Identify projects that require independent quality assurance (e.g. high risk, high value projects)
    • Facilitates stage-gates for strategic high-risk projects in the portfolio
    • Develop portfolio quality assurance framework, standards and tooling.
    • Support the delivery of project quality assurance (e.g. peer reviews)
  • Monitor benefits achievement
    • Report on actual benefits realization based on the approved business case
    • Benefits tracking: initiate the process to monitor actual benefit realization in the business after project implementation
    • Evaluates if business benefits significantly deviate from expected benefits, escalate issues to the appropriate party and implement lessons learned in the portfolio prioritization process.


  • Basic Requirements:
    • Bachelor Required ( Business Administration, IT Management)
    • Master degree prefrerred ( Business Administration, IT Management)
    • 8+ years of experience
    • S/4HANA Finance experience is a must
    • Retail or manufacturing experience is an asset
    • Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining SAP S/4HANA Financial Core System or Solution
    • Successfully implemented SAP Core Financial solution and maintained it for multibillion dollar organization
    • Experience leading multimillion dollar programs to completion
    • Experience working with multiple 3rd parties' partners
    • Experience working with cloud or hosted solutions
    • Ability to manage a team consisting of both internal as well as external resources
    • Experience managing full life cycle of complex program (from estimation - business requirements - testing - deployment)
    • Experience managing Core Financial ERP Solution post system implementation
    • Maintain service level agreements for key business stakeholders
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
