Job Description

Moen has an new opening for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer at our manufacturingplant in Sanford, NC.

BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain a safe working environment, and actively participate in plant safety events.
  • Direct the work activities of hourly direct reports, and assigns tasks as needed.
  • Work closely with the Supplier Quality Team to establish excellent incoming quality.
  • Support activities to implement the Global Quality Team’s vision.
  • Supports PFMEA activities to create robust process control plans and shop floor quality documents.
  • Execute problem solving activities to closure with the implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
  • Drive daily metrics and yield improvements using data and systems.
  • Participate in improvement projects to visibly impact quality and process controls on the shop floor.
  • Effectively update and report the status of quality projects and investigations.
  • Leverage work orders, purchase orders and capital expenditure to drive shop floor improvement.
  • Maintain the content on quality audit sheets relevant to the business needs.
  • Capture and analyze data from audit findings to drive process and quality improvement on the shop floor.
  • Drive quality assurance through statistical quality control and process capability analysis.
  • Specify inspection and sort requirements to validate materials conformance.
  • Support the maintenance and release of Moen’s QMS and document control hosted in SharePoint
  • Recommend changes to design blueprint specifications based analytical data.
  • Support the training plans to develop shopfloor expertise in the application of Quality disciplines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • BA/BS in Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Quality or Process Engineering in machining and/or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience conducting problem solving, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Outstanding data collection, interpretation, and analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated experience using FMEA to create control plans, work instructions, and process validation.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Demonstrated success handling multiple priorities and multi-tasking.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people and projects.
  • Demonstrated PC and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability and desire to work in an open, team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Successful experience supporting Six Sigma, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing activities.
  • ASQ Certification (CQE).
  • Exposure to ISO based quality systems.
  • Exposure to SharePoint based documentation systems.
  • Proficiency using SAP R/3.
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD, DraftSight, or other 2D/3D modeling software.
