Job Description

The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will take a lead role in the supplier quality system and production process assessment. This role will monitor supplier quality performance and drive supplier development and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor & drive the supplier’s improvement in quality system & process, ensure timely reporting of supplier’s quality capabilities and performance, such as PPM, QN/8D on time response rate, SI acceptance rate, etc.
  • Develop supplier improvement plans, including FBHS audit, supplier visits, tracking, appraisal & ranking.
  • Perform root cause problem solving with suppliers to obtain corrective & preventive actions, follow up the corrective & preventive actions and other requests from GPG.
  • Lead as a Manufacturing liaison to suppliers to resolve quality concerns actively. Follow and track all corrective action requests for the supplier base.
  • Assists supplier development of procedures, evaluation of quality systems and recommends changes to process controls.
  • Work in a cross-functional environment with Engineering, Plant Quality Assurance, Sourcing and Project Management team.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple priorities to meet schedules.
  • Provide information regarding GPG requirements for suppliers.
  • Identify training requirements and sources of training for suppliers.
  • Oversee daily controls and Key Process Indictors (KPI) of supplier performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with other SQE for multi-vendor project internally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality and manufacturing experience is required
  • ISO 9000 / TS16949 auditor certification is preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and irregular hours
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team and interface with Manufacturing and Engineering
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time is required
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Fluent with standard PC tools, Microsoft software, etc.
  • Outstanding & professional experience/knowledge of quality management tools
