Together, we are on a quest to change banking for good.Senior Risk Associate, Retail BankThe Retail Bank’s Consumer Risk Office is looking for a Sr. Risk Associate who will provide risk management & controls monitoring support for the Retail Bank Compliance Assurance Monitoring team. The Risk Office is accountable to Consumer Leadership to negotiate optimal solutions to achieve business objectives and launch efforts in ways that are operationally sound and meet all regulatory requirements. This requires strong collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, and other business partners to ensure business strategies and efforts are both compliant and well-managed.This role will include collaborating with Corporate Compliance and business partners driving definition, testing, and monitoring of the control environment. The role will involve collaborating and leveraging horizontal support functions and business partners. Identifies, initiates, and executes process improvements as well as to ensure best practices are executed by the team.Responsibilities:
Perform controls monitoring in support of regulatory, credit policy, and business control compliance to the related standards for the Retail and Direct Bank First Line of Defense organization.
Actively support the automation of controls with the end goal of implementing full exception/population testing across the control environment.
Actively participates in team oriented efforts
Managing multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines
Coordinating work between multiple areas and working on multiple projects simultaneously; leveraging/influencing business partners to drive results
Initiating and executing process improvements and leveraging other team members when appropriate
Consult with the business operational teams and counterparts in the business risk office (BRO) to ensure timely identification and remediation of risks based on the execution and subsequent results of our control portfolio.
Identify and remediate coverage gaps in our control environment by reviewing regulatory and policy updates to determine applicability and prioritization.
Participate in developing monthly reporting necessary to inform the Accountable Executives on control monitoring and issue remediation status.
Develop new metrics and reporting to enhance our interactions with our partners in 1st and 2nd lines of defense.
Must be intellectually curious to question the obvious, explore options, and develop alternatives.
Solid verbal and written communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or military experience
At least 1 year of experience in Project or Process Management
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in Project or Process Management
1+ years of experience in Risk Management
2+ years of experience in Communication or Presentation
1+ years of experience in Change Management
