Software Engineer III- Data & Software Engineering

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.The Workforce Planning Product is looking for a Data and Software Engineer to play a key role in helping and migrating large data sets to the public cloud. The full stack Data Engineer will design, develop, implement, test, document, and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures for analytics and deep learning; implement data ingestion routines both real time and batch using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes leveraging AWS technologies and Big data tools; gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions that work well within the overall data architecture; produce comprehensive, usable data-set documentation and metadata; provide input and recommendations on technical issues.Job responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems

Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development

Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems

Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture

Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience in Data Modelling or Data Warehousing and creating data pipelines

2+ Years of experience within cloud technologies such as AWS (Data lake, S3, RDS, EMR, Lambda, Redshift, SNS/SQS, API Gatewayetc.)

Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code at scale with one or more modern programming languages (i.e. Python and java), and database querying languages (writing and optimizing SQL)

Working experience with Airflow, Spark, Hadoop, data staging using Jupiter notebook

Solid understanding of Engineering best practices such as Scalability, Resiliency, and Security

Working experience in CI/CD and Automated Testing practices using Maven, GIT, Jenkins, Cucumber, Pactflow, DevOps models and tools

Strong technical development experience writing code reviews, best practices on configuration management and code refactoring.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Working experience in Web Services (SOAP & RESTful), API build experience with Micro services and Web Sockets, AWS / GAIA, Kafka and Cassandra

Exposure to AWS OmniAI (Sagemaker, Jupyter notebooketc.)
