Might as Well Bar and Grill owners are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in running and operating all aspects a high volume kitchen. If you are the type of person who can use your experience in management and commercial kitchens to take control and operate a seamless back of house, then this job is perfect for you. We are a fast growing company opening up several locations in the next few years and are in pursuit of a loyal, experienced Lead Line Cook to work alongside our Owners and Operations Manager. We’re looking for motivated and energetic applicants.

Got What It Takes?

4+ years in a line cook role with high volume exposure in a full service restaurant.

Specifically looking for strong experience in the kitchen; this includes experience in purchasing, safety techniques, quality control, portion control, presentation control, ticket timing, food/labor costing, and inventory.

Ability to learn and bring "out of the box" ideas to their team

Heavy experience working with numbers (food cost, labor cost, etc.)

Genuine enthusiasm and aptitude for working and leading people

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

High level of business acumen and common sense

Demonstrates strong problem solving skills through ability to diagnose and implement solutions.

Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing.

Ability to effectively pitch and present information in one-on-one and group situations to media, customers, clients, partners and other employees of the organization.

Accurately execute and enforce all company initiatives and policies with improvement to quality, service, and operations and ensure employee compliance.

Looking for a process driven individual

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.

* Responsible for ordering food products according to predetermined product specifications and received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are received in accordance with the restaurant’s receiving policies and procedures.

* Control food cost and usage by following proper requisition of products from storage areas, product storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures.

* Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

* Work with restaurant managers to plan and price menu items. Establish portion sizes and prepare standard recipe cards for all new menu items.

* Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition.

* Make employment and termination decisions including interviewing, hiring, evaluating and disciplining kitchen personnel as appropriate.

* Provide orientation of company and department rules, policies and procedures and oversee training of new kitchen employees.

* Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.

Customer service- must be able to interact with customers

Attention to detail- food standards and staff standards

Leadership- Conflict resolve, team building

Management skills- costing, pricing, scheduling, inventory

Organizational skills- scheduling, shipments and receiving, cleaning

Problem solving- communications skills, damage control, think on feet

Speaking skills- communicate standards to staff, give orders, delegate

Stamina- long days are required
