Acme Smoked Fish is seeking an Evening Production Supervisor/Superintendent to join our cold smoked seafood processing team in Wilmington, North Carolina. We are looking for individuals with management experience to join our leadership team of professionals in driving a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing to help us meet and exceed our business objectives.

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Evening Production Supervisor/Superintendent will be responsible for leading a team of Production Associates in processing/packaging departments to meet company, department and line goals as well as standards for safety, quality, yield, efficiency and cost. The Superintendent will be directly involved with hiring decisions, the development and training of all associates in conjunction with our company policies, procedures and culture while maintaining high level of employee morale and dedication to serving our customers.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have a previously demonstrated and verifiable work history of managing a team of associates, and food /seafood manufacturing experience is a plus. Preference will be given to individuals with experience driving change through identifying and implementing lean manufacturing initiatives. Lean training such as 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, statistical process control and six sigma an advantage. The ideal candidate must be able to efficiently make decisions with minimum direct supervision, act accountably and exhibit strong leadership skills while maintaining our company's culture which puts employee welfare and consumer safety above all other priorities.

Primary responsibilities include:

Ensure all daily manufacturing reporting and use of SAP, ERP and WMS systems are completed to appropriately track performance and yields

Conduct regular department / group meetings to validate / reinforce techniques and processes in the areas of safety (OSHA), manufacturing, quality and food safety

Ensure that our Production Associates are processing our product lines in full accordance with HACCP, GMP, FDA, BRC, Acme & RC Creations requirements

Ability to prioritize / adjust quickly to a rapidly changing work environment with minimal supervision to meet internal and external customer needs

Qualifications/Experience:

At least five (5) years of experience in a management position, preferably in the food processing industry

Take responsibility with a "Can do spirit and attitude"

Previous experience working within an FDA regulated facility

Past experience within an SQF or BRC certified manufacturing environment

Previous experience with employee performance review programs and employee assessments

Must be able to work in temperatures in upper 30's range

Ability and willingness to work unusual/flexible schedule, including Sundays and early morning schedule

Ability to work across the organization, including quality, sales, procurement, finance, engineering and maintenance

Experience driving change through identifying and implementing lean manufacturing initiatives preferred

B.A. / B.S. Food Science, Business or related field and/or equivalent work experience a plus

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
