Join our Avionics team today.Kidde Fire Protection Systems is a global organization providing fully-integrated fire protection systems for aircraft and ground vehicles in both the commercial and government markets.Seeking established professional in Manufacturing Engineering. This position will be an active role for continuous improvement projects, working closely with factory production in process improvements, and managing new capital equipment from idea to installation.Primary Responsibilities: Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Provide factory floor support and maintain production processes such as routers, work instructions, quality notifications, and corrective and mistake-proofing actions Upgrade processes to meet or improve EH&S related projects such as ergonomic improvements, work cell layouts, SDS related improvements, waste stream reduction Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control to ensure compliance and effective production, including Key Characteristics and Key Process Inputs Checks and validates that mandatory modifications, programs, and bulletins are incorporated or complied with, as required by the customer and the applicable regulatory requirements, to ensure legal compliance and adherence to quality standards. Learn and use basic Lean (ACE) and 6sigma tools including value stream mapping, standardized work, statistical capability and ANOVA analysis Designs and develops manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing; Such design and development may include new or revised processes. Develops procedures for the economical and efficient production in cooperation with production departments. Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation. Reviews field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment. Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment; sets up replenishment items in factory tool crib Make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials. Process new Capital Equipment, such as writing capital funding requests, Statement of Work & Validation requirements; interface with vendors, contractors from installation to production Must have the ability to work with cross functionally with operations, maintenance, quality and design engineering to implement robust processes.QualificationsCAD software (SolidWorks, DraftSight, AutoCAD or equivalent)Microsoft OfficePreferred Qualifications:Experience with and knowledge of electrical and mechanical assembly techniques including but not limited to wiring, soldering, swaging, staking, pressing, forming, and crimping.Experience with and knowledge of part marking techniques including laser marking, metal stamping, ink stamping, dot peening, and chemical etchingExperience with and knowledge of High Pressure systems including tubing, fittings, valves, gauges, and chargingExperience with and knowledge of electrical and pneumatic controls using in industrial manufacturing processes.Basic Qualifications:This position requires a STEM Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required.
