Works as an individual contributor to set and achieve objectives for assigned areas of responsibility. Manages supplier qualification, performance monitoring, escape management, quality issue resolution processes and continual improvement activities with knowledge and explanations of organizational Supplier Quality Requirements & Compliance practices and procedures.Primary Responsibilities:Manages supplier quality issues through monitoring and escalation processes, escape management, and internal MRB processes.Executes supplier qualification / certification and assessment activities and maintains applicable qualified supplier documentation.Leads on-site supplier engagements, including corrective action verification, process walks and quality system and process audits.Executes escape management procedures, drives containment and RCCA activities (8D) for part specific supplier quality escapes.Recommends corrective and preventive action for systemic process and product design problems for purchased products and services.Manages supplier work transitions and related supplier qualification plansAnalyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific continual improvement strategies and zero defect plans.Utilizes PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, MPR, Process Control Plans, statistical process capability studies, FAI, etc.) to mitigate risk in new product introduction and work transfer projects.Proactively supports the Collins Aerospace Supplier Gold program to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability.Leads cross-functional teams in pursuit of process and product improvements aligned to department and organizational goals.QualificationsCandidates must have excellent communication, organizational and time management skills and an overall strong quality focus.Ability to travel on average 35%Preferred Qualifications:AS9100 Certified Lead AuditorSix Sigma Black Belt Certification or equivalent training and experienceCertified Quality Engineer or equivalent training and experienceKnowledge of aerospace special processes and NADCAPDemonstrated successful implementation of quality improvement and zero defect plans.Functional knowledge and experience in the facilitation of supplier APQP and PPAP activities.Experience working in SAPStrong understanding of GD&T principles and blue print reading.Basic Qualifications:This position requires a STEM Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.
