A place where we will challenge ourselves, our teams, and the status quo and where we will work to find a way – the right way – to achieve what others can only dream of.Drafting responsibilities will be for mechanical products used in aerospace design and manufacturing: Job will entail revising and creating models and finished drawings with some supervision, creating and revising 2-D drawings, creating bills of materials. Most, but not all, models and drawings will be of a mechanical nature. Incumbent will work in a team environment.Primary Responsibilities: Works under direct supervision to assist engineers with all activities related to part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings. Assists with basic drafting duties by operating Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment such as digitizers, plotters, CRT’s, and associated peripheral equipment and software. Performs routine drafting assignments requiring the application of standard drafting methods, procedures and techniques. Uses a computer or other drafting techniques to perform scaling, dimensioning, or line locating according to standard industry procedures. Documents project activities and prepares reports. Compiles various details from sketches, drawings, or blueprints and makes required calculations. Plans, lays-out, draws, and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, references, and data. Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices using computer aided design systems. Determines scaling, inserts necessary reference datum, center and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning. Prepares complete production detail drawings. Develops design drawings according to engineering sketches and proposal specifications. Includes classifications normally populated by non-degreed personnel.Qualifications1 year minimum mechanical drafting using AutoCad, 3-D experience using SolidWorks or Catia; knowledge of ASME drawing standards.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of GD&T, industry specifications and MIL standards beneficial.Basic Qualifications:This position requires an HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
